I want to see how people use products and have worked most at optimising workflows, first as a Product Designer and most recently as a Product Manager.
I began my career in 2017 as a UI designer, gradually expanding into UX as I became more interested in how people think, behave, and move through digital products. For five years, UX was where I felt most at home — exploring problems, shaping flows, and understanding the nuances of user motivation. More recently, I’ve transitioned into Product Management, which has felt like a natural next step. Being closer to users, their needs, and the broader product vision is what inspires me the most.
Alongside my industry work, I taught Introduction to User Experience Design at the Estonian Academy of Arts (EKA) for two years, helping students understand the foundations of UX and encouraging them to think critically about digital products. Teaching strengthened my ability to communicate ideas clearly and stay grounded in the fundamentals of good design.
Outside of work, I balance structure with creativity. I run a small art business where I create large abstract paintings — a space where I can disconnect, reset my mind, and express myself freely. You can find my work on Instagram at @kaarimaalib.
Community and curiosity are also big parts of my life. I started a book club during my time at EKA and it has been going strong for five years. We’ve explored everything from AI and world history to, most recently, China. At home, I share my space with two rescue cats, who reliably keep me grounded.
As a person, I’m responsible, enthusiastic, and tend to go deep in the projects I take on. I love thinking things through and understanding problems thoroughly — sometimes a little too much but so far, my teams have helped to pull me back from the worm holes.
